The contemporary art gallery, Recycle Nest, presents a new event: the artist Ciprian
Ciuclea’s exhibition, The effects of the process of object interpretation on an objective look
Being a graphical artist above all, but also making video, photography, design, installation,
Ciprian Ciuclea succeeds in destabilizing the rather frail comfort of the engraving tradition in
Romania, with every one of his exhibitions and with a programmatic insistence.
Reunited under the both descriptive and abstruse title of a scientific treaty of the
Enlightenment, the works displayed at the Recycle Nest seem to be surrounded by the aura
of neutral purity of the laboratory experiment, remarkable for the technical competence, if
not even excellence. The perhaps trivial scientific information is illustrated didactically and
condensed as in a cold, terrible and autoreferential manual of medicine.
Ciprian ciuclea seems to offer an experience similar to certainty as his multiple sections cross
the eye / the look that goes from object to brain and backwards. It is the certainty offered
by a methodical series of studies and thorough experiments, and not by some accidental
revelation. I usually do not propose a project until I’m certain about what I am going to do,
how I am going to do it or how it is going to finally look like in space. […] I feel well in the
“laboratory”. It is there that I project every detail, even running the risk of failure, I play, I
improvise, and I find the optimal solutions. Only then do I propose the project, says Ciprian
Ciuclea.

Galeria de artă contemporană Recycle Nest propune un nou eveniment: expoziţia Efectele
procesului de interpretare a obiectului asupra unei priviri obiective, a artistului Ciprian
Ciuclea
Gravor prin excelenţă, dar făcând şi video, fotografie, desen, instalaţie, Ciprian Ciuclea
reuşeşte, cu fiecare expoziţie şi cu o insistenţă programatică, să destabilizeze confortul
tradiţiei, altfel destul de firave, a gravurii din România.
Reunite sub un titlu deopotrivă descriptiv şi abscons, de tratat ştiinţific iluminist, lucrările ce
vor fi expuse la Recycle Nest, impunând prin competenţă – dacă nu chiar excelenţă –
tehnică, par înconjurate de aura de neutră neprihănire a experimentului de laborator.
Informaţia ştiinţifică, poate trivială, e ilustrată didactic, condensat, ca într-un manual de
medicină, rece, înfiorător şi autoreferenţial.
Secţionând multiplu ochiul / privirea care parcurge traseul de la obiect la creier şi înapoi,
Ciprian Ciuclea pare să ofere o explicaţie asimilabilă certidunii. E certitudinea dată nu de vreo
revelaţie accidentală, ci ca urmare a unui şir metodic de studii şi experimente meticuloase.
Spune Ciprian Ciuclea: De obicei nu propun un proiect până nu mi-e clar ce voi face, cum voi
face sau cum va arăta în final în spaţiu. […] mă simt bine în “laborator”. Acolo proiectez
fiecare detaliu, chiar cu riscul eşecului, mă joc, improvizez, găsesc soluţiile optime. Abia apoi
propun proiectul.
